Abstract:

Testable ALP in the Minimal Linear Sigma Model (Javier Alonso)

We consider an ALP scenario in the MLSigM, identifying the mechanism behind the PQ symmetry and the SO(5) breaking. The approach of considering an ALP instead of a QCD axion allows us to escape from the strong bounds on the axion-photon coupling.

Sudakov Representation of the Cachazo-He-Yuan Scattering Equations Formalism (Diego Medrano)

After reviewing the basics of the CHY (Cachazo-He-Yuan) formalism for the computation of scattering amplitudes in different theories, I will show how the use of 'Sudakov variables' greatly simplifies the study of the solutions to the Scattering Equations appearing in it. Studying 4- and 5- particle amplitudes, we see that the SL(2,C) redundancy appearing in the integrands allows for algebraic simplifications when finding solutions to these scattering equations, as well as in the expression of the scattering amplitudes in terms of the locations of the punctures in the Riemann sphere. These punctures themselves are remarkably simple functions of the Sudakov parameters.
