PhD dissertation: Quantum Information & its interplay with High-energy Physics

September 26 | 10:00 - 11:30

Venue&Time: ¨Blue Room / 10:00 AM

Abstract:

This thesis explores the intersection of Quantum Information Theory (QIT) and High-Energy Physics. We demonstrate the presence of entanglement and Bell nonlocality in vector boson systems resulting from scalar and pseudoscalar particle decays, focusing on the H→ZZ process and generalizing to broader Lorentz-invariant scenarios. We also develop a method for quantum state tomography through angular distributions in scattering processes. Beyond high-energy applications, the thesis contributes to the field of QIT by providing new tools for studying genuine multipartite entanglement, exploring CHSH nonlocality violation in hybrid systems, and introducing operational definitions for fundamental concepts like quantum dimensionality and classicality. These latter results connect with core ideas in QIT such as the accessible information, the joint measurability, and the quantum steering.
