Abstract: This seminar consists of two parts. First, it is discussed how various approaches to the hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, g-2, are connected. Second, results for the HVP from lattice QCD are presented, focusing on the work of the Fermilab Lattice, HPQCD, and MILC collaborations.
