Between March 9th and 18th, the IFT hosted a doctoral course given by José Calderón-Infante (Caltech), titled “AdS/CFT Holography as a Framework for Quantum Gravity”, aimed at PhD students and early-career researchers.
The course provided a structured introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence, one of the most influential developments in modern theoretical physics, establishing a duality between gravitational theories in higher-dimensional spacetimes and quantum field theories in lower dimensions.
Over several sessions, participants explored both the conceptual foundations and current applications of this framework, including its relevance to string theory, quantum field theory, and black hole physics. Particular attention was given to the role of holography as a promising approach to understanding quantum gravity.
