On March 19th, the IFT hosted the third session of its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) training programme, focusing on the integration of gender perspective in science and research.
The session was delivered by Alejandra Gámez Abascal (CBM-CSIC), an expert in gender equality and member of the Institute for Women’s Studies. It addressed structural, cultural, and institutional biases affecting scientific careers, supported by recent data and case studies illustrating inequalities across different stages of the academic system. The training also explored practical strategies to foster more inclusive research environments, with particular emphasis on identifying unconscious bias and implementing best practices in evaluation, recruitment, and leadership.
