Abstract: String theory has many vacua. We shall examine the question of whether these vacua are connected from an experimentalist’s perspective.
Ashoke Sen is the ICTS-Infosys Madhava Chair Professor at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, Bengaluru.
His major honours include the ICTP Dirac Medal (2014), Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics (2012), and the Infosys Prize in Mathematical Sciences (2009). He has also received the Padma Bhushan (2013) and the Padma Shri (2001), and is a Fellow of the Royal Society.
