Title: “Three jobs for a U(1): dark matter stability, light portals, and neutrino and Higgs masses”
Speaker: Eduardo Peinado (Mexico U.)
Venue & Time: Red Room / 15:00
Abstract: Adding a U(1) gauge symmetry is a simple yet surprisingly versatile extension of the Standard Model. In this talk, I will discuss three roles it can play: stabilizing a dark matter candidate while generating neutrino masses, opening light portals to new physics that can be probed by low-energy experiments and IceCube, and, through the heavy neutrinos of a low-scale seesaw, setting an upper bound on the Higgs mass.
