Abstract: Boltzmann’s ergodic hypothesis lies at the foundation of classical statistical mechanics, yet its quantum counterpart remains far less understood. In this talk, I will discuss a quantum-information-theoretic measure of quantum ergodicity that probes its emergence at different resolution scales, revealing otherwise inaccessible global aspects of the quantum many-body wavefunction. We apply this metric to chart the boundary between ergodic and non-ergodic behavior in a two-dimensional disordered Floquet-Heisenberg system, using large-scale simulations, both classical and quantum on IBM’s latest digital quantum processor with up to 10×10 qubits
