Abstract: In this talk, I will argue that the covariant entropy bound poses non-trivial restrictions on anti-de Sitter(AdS) flux vacua. After motivating the bound on AdS, we will see how it naturally arises in the context of the supergravity equations of motion, based on some reasonable assumptions. In four dimensions, we argue that the bound suggests a lower bound on the superpotential, as we will verify in examples. Based on work in progress with N. Cribiori and T. Van Riet.
