The IFT joins the OpenHPC Consortium<\/p>\n
The IFT has joined the OpenHPC Consortium, a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project whose mission is to provide a reference collection of open-source HPC software components and best practices, lowering barriers to deployment, advancement, and use of modern HPC methods and tools. OpenHPC components and best practices will enable and accelerate innovation and discoveries by broadening access to state-of-the-art, open-source HPC methods and tools in a consistent environment, supported by a collaborative, worldwide community of HPC users, developers, researchers, administrators, and vendors.

\nOur partners in OpenHPC leading companies, including Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, Huawei, Intel, red hat, and frontier research institutions, including Argonne National Lab, Berkeley Lab, Barcelona Supercomputinc Center, Lawrence Livermore National Lab and Los Alamos National Lab.

\nThe mission of the OpenHPC Project is to:<\/p>\n
a. create a stable and flexible open source high performance computing (\u201cHPC\u201d) software stack, validated to run on a variety of hardware platforms;<\/p>\n
b. increase the simplicity and to reduce the cost of deploying and managing HPC systems and the performance and efficient utilization of HPC systems;<\/p>\n
c. include insights and technical contributions from across the HPC ecosystem, to integrate the leading edge work in the field and make it available to the community, and to adapt to new hardware insights and new technologies addressing scalability and performance, quickly responding to technology changes; and<\/p>\n
d. host the infrastructure for the open source project, establishing a neutral home for community meetings, events and collaborative discussions and providing structure around the business and technical governance of the Project.<\/p>\n
