There is a new opening for PhD positions at the IFT, including three positions associated to the Severo Ochoa Excellence Center grant. Candidates are expected to carry out a PhD in one of the strategic research lines of the IFT, which include particle phenomenology, astroparticle physics, nuclear theory, string theory, gravitation and cosmology, lattice and quantum field theory, and quantum information theory.<\/p>\n

\u2022 SEV-2016-0597-19-1 Standard Model and Beyond (contact person: Alberto Casas)<\/p>\n

\u2022 SEV-2016-0597-19-2 Astroparticles and Cosmology (contact person: Juan Garc\u00eda-Bellido)<\/p>\n

\u2022 SEV-2016-0597-19-3 String Theory and Quantum Gravity (contact person: \u00c1ngel<\/p>\n

Uranga)<\/p>\n

The fellowships will cover a four-year period, with conditions as specified in the Ministry call. This includes a competitive salary and full health insurance. Selected candidates will be included in IFT grants, which provide additional funds for scientific visits, attendance to advanced schools and workshops, and other training activities.<\/p>\n

Applications have to be filed through the webpage of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities:<\/p>\n

ONLINE APPLICATION<\/a><\/p>\n

The application period is 13-27 October 2020 (hard deadline at 14:00 CET of the closing day). Candidates are expected to provide:<\/p>\n

– A copy of his\/her passport.
\n– An updated CV, either in English or Spanish.
\n– A certificate of academic degrees and a certificate of the Masters degree, both indicating:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Issue date.<\/p>\n

\u2022 List of subjects and grades, with the dates when they were obtained.<\/p>\n

\u2022 For degrees from non-Spanish universities, certificates must include basic information about the interpretation of grades (maximum and minimum values, and passing grade).<\/p>\n

An official translation should be provided for titles not issued in Spanish or English. Candidates should have an excellent academic track record, and are expected to hold an academic degree that grants access to a PhD program at the
\ntime of formalisation of the contract.<\/p>\n
