| From the airport (Barajas) to Madrid |
Once in the airport you can get to town by bus, METRO or taxi.

By bus

From Barajas airport one can take a bus to Madrid, that stops right
infront of the International arrivals lounge. This bus is fairly frequent
(15-30 minutes periodicity) and its last stop is at Plaza de
Colón, close to the center of town.

By METRO
|
|
From Barajas airport one follow the signs "Metro" to the subway station.
Line 8 (the pink one) takes you directly to Nuevos Ministerios quite efficiently
(about 12 minutes). Here is a

By taxi
|

You can take a taxi from the airport to town, for approximately 20 €.

| From Madrid to La Cristalera |
Once in Madrid, the only way to get to Miraflores de la Sierra by public transport is to take the bus.

By bus
|
|
There is a public bus from Madrid to Miraflores de la Sierra.
It is the bus number 725, leaving from platform 5 of
the bus terminal of Plaza de Castilla (the metro station is
called Plaza de Castilla). The trip takes about one hour.
The Residence-Hall La Cristalera is in Km. 2 of the road
from Miraflores de la Sierra to Rascafría, so from the bus
stop to the residence you will have to take a taxi or
walk this distance.

Take the road M-607
to Colmenar Viejo, then M-609, and after Soto del Real, take M-611.
The distance from Madrid to Miraflores de la Sierra is 49 Km.
Once in Miraflores de la Sierra, take the road to Rascafría.
