The workshop Von Neumann Algebras, Quantum Information and Gravity will take place from 16 to 27 November 2026 at the Institute for Geometry and Physics – iGAP in Trieste, Italy.

The meeting aims to bring together physicists and mathematicians to foster interaction between the theory of von Neumann algebras and quantum physics. Particular emphasis will be placed on recent applications of operator algebras in quantum information and quantum gravity.

The workshop will provide a forum for researchers from different backgrounds to discuss recent developments, exchange ideas and explore new connections between mathematical structures and fundamental questions in quantum theory and gravity.

The programme will also include a one-day meeting on 19 November, organised in collaboration with INdAM by Gianni Landi, Arnoud Bouthier and Michele Cirafici.

This action is part of the Quamtum Complexity Nexus, a strategic initiative of the Institute for Theoretical Physics aimed at strengthening the interaction between the various research lines, within the framework of the CEX2025-001574-S Program

Dates: 16–27 November 2026
Venue: iGAP and Room D,Via Beirut 2, Miramare Campus, Trieste, Italy
