I will review this paper which discusses a new and possibly observable consequence of the triangle diagram which gives weak axial anomaly in the baryon number current. Harvey, Hill and Hill discuss the anomaly induced coupling between the photon, the Z boson, and the baryon number current, which can lead to the conversion of virtual Z bosons into photons in the presence of background baryon number. This process may be observable in neutral current neutrino scattering, and provide a new background for searches for oscillations of muon neutrinos into electron neutrinos. This may explain the low energy excess of "electrons" observed by the MiniBoone experiment. In addition, this anomalous coupling could have implications for the cooling of neutron stars.
