This page is meant to give practical instructions on how to get around in Barcelona.

  • Metro and TMB buses

    Barcelona has an extensive and convenient metro system. Tickets can be bought at stations either from a machine (accepting cash, including notes, bank- and credit cards) and usually also from a ticketoffice. A single trip includes any number of transfers (1 hour).

    You can buy either a single ticket for €1,25 or a travelcard (also valid for the local TMB buses). Examples:

    • 10 travelcard: Targeta T-10 (1 Zone: €6,90)
    • Combined Travel Card (2-Days €9,60; 3-Days €13,70)

    Metro Timetable:

    From Monday to Thursday, Sunday & holiday 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
    Fridays5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
    Saturdays and eve's other holidayNon-stop service

  • Taxi's:

    Taxi's are numerous and for European standards, reasonably priced. A ride from the airport to the center from 6am to 10pm, costs around €20,- (incl. the airport supplement). Supplements:

    • from/to airport €3,0
    • for luggage: €0,90 (larger than 55x35x35cm)
