Statement on the Situation in Gaza by the Following Members of the IFT

In the face of the massacre in Gaza of around 80,000 people, largely women, the elderly, and children, we cannot remain silent, even if nothing we do or say seems to matter.
We therefore condemn the government of Israel, as well as all those who collaborate with it.

Postdoctoral position in black hole physics and holography

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) in Madrid. The position is expected to start as soon as possible (and no later than February 1, 2026).

REDONGRA: a network to propel Spain’s role in gravitational wave astronomy

The Spanish Network of Gravitational Wave Physics (REDONGRA) has been granted significant funding under the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities 2024 call of Redes de Investigación.

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory releases the first images of what will be the most complete ‘movie’ of the night sky ever made


The mapping is known as the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) and is expected to probe the nature of dark matter and characterize the evolution of dark energy.
The IFT is part of the scientific collaboration in a consortium of 30 countries.
