Video of the Special Invisibles Event "Call for action on diversity and inclusion in academia"

Several members of the "Invisibles'' community have actively joined the worldwide actions followed by thousands of scientists to join the strike for  Blacklives (#Strike4BlackLives, #ShutDownSTEM and  #ShutDownAcademia). Universities, scientific organizations, and scientific journals have participated in this unprecedented global movement.

Pilar Coloma returns to the IFT as a Ramón y Cajal fellow

Pilar Coloma returns to the IFT as a Ramón y Cajal fellow, starting May 2020. She got her MSc and PhD from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2011. After that, she spent 5 years as a postdoctoral fellow in the US, first in Virginia Tech and then at Fermilab, where she got a tenure-track position in 2016.

In memory of the victims of COVID-19

We at the Institute for Theoretical Physics IFT UAM-CSIC would like to express our sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of COVID-19, due to this sad pandemic. Besides, we recognize the strong efforts of those who fought and are still fighting the virus at each stage.

David G. Cerdeño, new Beatriz Galindo Senior Fellow at UAM and IFT

David G. Cerdeño, a former member of IFT until October 2014, retakes from May 2020 his position at UAM and IFT as Beatriz Galindo Senior Fellow, after 6 years away working for IPPP Durham in UK. His research focuses on astroparticle physics and cosmology, addressing the nature of dark matter and ways to detect and identify it.
