Symposium 'The Higgs boson turns 10' at Ramón Areces Foundation

To commemorate the anniversary of the Higgs boson, Ramón Areces Foundation hosts a symposium on May 5th and May 12th at 6:00 p.m. in which María José Herrero and Carlos Pena from the IFT participate.

May 5th

On May 5, María José Herrero's speech Relevance and search for the Higgs Boson: crossing frontiers in knowledge will take place. Christopher Llewellyn-Smith, from the University of Oxford and former Director General of CERN, will impart Genesis of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider). Finally, there will be a speech by Lyn Evans, former director of the CERN LHC Construction Project, The LHC (Large Hadronic Collider), a marvel of technology.

May 12th

Carlos Pena, researcher and deputy director of the IFT, will take part in the program for May 12th, with The Horizon of Particle Physics. Juan Alcaraz, from CIEMAT, will give his speech The Higgs boson: its discovery, what we have learned after a decade of research. Finally, Joachim Mnich, current director of Research and Computing at CERN, will speak about The future of Particle Physics: CERN's vision.
