Abstract:

I will show novel methods to constrain dark matter properties based on Milky Way stellar dynamics. First, I will discuss a Bayesian framework to search for correlations among Milky Way stellar trajectories and those of globular clusters and dwarf galaxies in the halo and in other nearby galaxies. Scattering events with compact objects are expected in the primordial black hole cold dark matter scenario, due to close encounters between stars and primordial black holes in the dense environments of dwarf spheroidals. Second, I will discuss how to optimally use the density profile of Milky Way stellar streams as a proxy to dark matter properties.
