After a brief introduction to the concept of quantum entanglement and to its relevance in a broad variety of physics contexts, I will present a numerical study of the entropic c-function by means of non-equilibrium Monte Carlo simulations of the Ising model in two and in three dimensions, and compare the results with known analytical predictions. This talk is based on: Andrea Bulgarelli and M.P. "Entanglement entropy from non-equilibrium Monte Carlo simulations", JHEP 06 (2023) 030, arXiv:2304.03311 [quant-ph].
