Abstract:

Graphene is a two dimensional membrane one atom thick. Many of its unique features have been elucidated during the past decade. A number of other non trivial properties are now intensively studied. We review a few of them with interesting conequences in fundamental physics: graphene as an anharmonic membrane, the manipulation of the coupling between spin and orbital motion, and the generation of excitations which are their own antiparticles.
