Abstract:

We discuss a corpuscular theory in which black holes and cosmological spaces are composite entities of multiple soft constituents in a well-defined quantum sense. The classical metric description emerges as a mean-field approximation. We discuss how this picture reproduces the well-known geometric properties, eliminates some of the long-standing puzzles and predicts new phenomena that can be studied both in cosmological and astrophysical observations as well as in quantum table top labs.
