You Spin me Round

I will present the results obtained in https://arxiv.org/abs/2203.02492, where a classical folded spinning
string in AdS_3 is considered. Due to the non-decay of the gravitational attraction at long distance in 3D,
the spinning string backreacts on the geometry for sufficiently large spin J. We will see how to construct
such explicit solutions of spinning strings coupled to gravity, show how they exist only below a maximal
spin J_max and comment on the implications in the context of the back hole/string transition phenomena.
