First DIFT Colloquium: '25 Years of Warped Geometry' by Lisa Randall

On Wednesday, May 7th, the Department of Theoretical Physics (DFT) and the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) will launch their DIFT Colloquia series.

The opening talk will be given by renowned Professor Lisa Randall from Harvard University. The event will take place at 3:30 PM in the Aula Polivalente, Plaza Mayor, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), under the title 25 Years of Warped Geometry.

In this talk, Prof. Randall will review the work done with Raman Sundrum and Andreas Karch on models of warped geometry in five-dimensional space that have interesting four-dimensional consequences. She will review applications to particle physics, cosmology, string theory, and general relativity, and briefly introduce some more recent work on those subjects.

  • Location: Aula Polivalente, Plaza Mayor UAM
  • Date and Time: Wednesday, May 7 at 3:30 PM
