On Friday, March 1st, 45 Secondary School boys and girls participated in the 'Hands-on Particle Physics' Masterclass, organized by the IFT and coordinated by the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG).

The group of students had the opportunity to conduct a practical analysis of real data taken from the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC accelerator.

In the morning, the students attended seminars on particle physics, accelerators, detectors, and were explained the details of the practice and how to carry it out. In the afternoon, the group participated in a video conference session with other international institutes (Krakow and Tbilisi) and CERN to present and discuss the results obtained in the practice.

This activity is part of the international initiative 'Hands on Particle Physics Masterclass 2024,' in which hundreds of institutions around the world participate.
