Rafael Alves Batista, new "La Caixa" Junior Leader researcher at IFT
Rafael Alves Batista obtained his PhD from the University of Hamburg (Germany) in 2015, after concluding his undergraduate and master studies at the State University of Campinas (Brazil). He was previously a Radboud Excellence Fellow at Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands), and held postdoctoral positions at the University of São Paulo (Brazil), and at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom). His primary research activities are in the fields of astroparticle physics and high-energy astrophysics, including: cosmic rays, gamma rays, and neutrinos; dark matter; cosmic magnetic fields. His secondary interests include topics in the foundations of physics and astrobiology. Dr. Alves Batista comes to IFT as a "La Caixa" Junior Leader, where he work on the project "Multimessenger Probes of the High-Energy Universe".
