Abstract:

One major systematic uncertainty of results from lattice QCD arises from determining the continuum limit. Use of Symanzik Effective Field Theory allows to describe the asymptotic lattice spacing dependence of quantities obtained on the lattice. This puts continuum extrapolations and error estimates on more solid grounds. I will discuss some results obtained for spectral quantities with Wilson or Ginsparg-Wilson quarks including some generalisations like mixed actions as well as give an outlook what remains to be done at the very least.
This talk will be based on Phys.Lett.B 829 (2022) 137069, hep-lat/2206.03536 and ongoing work.
