A brief introduction to symmetry-protected topological phases

"I will give a brief introductory presentation on the topic of symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases [mainly in (1+1)D], with an emphasis on the relevant concepts, including the definition of SPT phases, the edge modes, and some mathematical tools for the classification of these phases (such as the group cohomology, projective representations, matrix product states and so on). If time permits, we will also look into several concrete examples."
