Abstract:
The talk will first overview recent efforts to understand optimal ways of preparing states in quantum-many body systems. Among them, a particularly prominent way of getting interesting states is through Euclidean path integrals. The second part of the talk will discuss ongoing efforts to understand state-preserving alterations of euclidean path integrals from the point of view of circuit optimization. This will provide a bridge between the so-called path-integral optimization and a more standard approach of circuit complexity.
