Abstract:

Cluster cosmology is potentially one of the most powerful observational probes of structure formation. However, enabling unbiased cosmological constraints requires careful modeling of the cluster selection function. In the case of optical cluster cosmology, this requires accurate modeling of projection effects. We will introduce a new simulation-based inference framework with which we reanalyze DES Y1 cluster abundances, highlight both the promise and challenges of this new approach.
