Generalised duality and geometry.

Abstract: The T- and U-duality symmetries of string and M-theory map spacetimes with abelian isometries to dual spacetimes with abelian isometries. I will discuss some ways to introduce generalisations of these dualities which go beyond the restriction of having abelian isometries. The resulting "generalised dualities" serve at a minimum as interesting solution generating mechanisms in supergravity, and can be most efficiently described using ideas from generalised geometry.
