Abstract:
The recent discovery of the B modes of polarization of the cosmic microwave background opens a window to the exploration of a new energy scale very close to the scale of quantum gravity. In this talk I will describe the results BICEP experiment at the South Pole and its implications for our understanding of the origin of the universe, in terms of the theory of inflation and the implications that this has for the future of cosmology.
