Abstract:

In this talk, I will explore new directions in the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT) by considering the one-loop renormalization group running of (1) bosonic dimension-eight operators triggered by double dimension-six interactions and of (2) dimension-five operators in the SMEFT extended with an axion-like particle, both above and below the electroweak scale. The phenomenological consequences of the two cases will be discussed, namely the interplay between the positivity bounds and the anomalous dimensions in case (1) and that between direct and indirect limits on the parameter space of the exotic particle in case (2).
