Elisa Ramírez García, physicist, mathematician and young science communicator, begins her stay at the IFT thanks to a CSIC-Fundación BBVA grant

As a beneficiary of the CSIC-BBVA Foundation 2024 grant for science communication, Elisa will spend time at the IFT from September 1 to October 15, joining the communications department. This opportunity will allow her to experience the center's research work firsthand and complete her training as a communicator. Her itinerary will also take her to the ICMAT, the Institute of Space Sciences in Barcelona, the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalucía, and CSIC Divulga group throughout this academic year.

This is the fourth year that the Fundación BBVA in collaboration with CSIC, has awarded its two grants to promote specialization in science communication in Spain. The beneficiaries, university graduates in any branch of knowledge, design their own training itinerary among more than 90 CSIC centers and institutes.

For the first time, one of the grants has been awarded to a graduate in Mathematics and Physics. Elisa completed her double degree from the Complutense University in 2024 and has worked in science communication agencies such as Scienseed and Nubalo Studios, with whom she carried out outreach projects for the European Space Agency. Leveraging her scientific training, her professional goal is to make a significant contribution to the communication of research in the basic sciences.

During her stay at the IFT, she will be located in office B12 and can be contacted via the communications department email: comunicacion@ift.csic.es
