Graham Ross

The Institute of Theoretical Physics IFT is greatly saddened by the passing of Prof. Graham Ross of Oxford, yesterday October 31. He was a great physicist who did important work in the Standard Model of Particle Physics, such as the prediction of gluon jets in e+ e- colliders.

There is a new opening for PhD positions at IFT, involving five positions associated to the Severo Ochoa Excellence Center grant.

Dr. Alessandra Buonanno, member of the IFT Scientific Advisory Committee, wins the Balzan Prize

Alessandra Buonnano, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the IFT, has been awarded the prestigious 2021 Balzan Prize, together with Dr. Thibault Damour from the IHES. 

José L. F. Barbón, new Director of the IFT

At the end of Luis E. Ibáñez's three-year term, José L. F. Barbón has been appointed as new director of the IFT. Carlos Pena will act as deputy director.
The IFT thankfully acknowledges Luis' dedication and efforts, and expresses its best wishes to the new directorate.
