The IFT in the 2018 Madrid Science Week

The IFT is organizing several activities within the 2018 Madrid Science Week:

Luis E. Ibáñez, new Director of the IFT

After completion of the three years period as Director of Angel Uranga, we have proceeded to relieve with the election of Luis E. Ibáñez Santiago as new Director. José Luis Fernández Barbón accompanies him as Deputy Director.

The H2020 European network EuroPLEx, in which the IFT participates, offers 8 PhD positions in Lattice Gauge Theory

Eight PhD positions are available in Lattice field theory as part of the EuroPLEx network (http://europlex.unipr.it) with a deadline of the 5th of November.

The First Telescope on a Cherenkov Telescope Array Site Makes its Debut

The Cherenkov telescope array (CTA) celebrated on October 10th 2018 the inauguration of its first telescope. The new telescope, named LST-1, is intended to become the first of the four Large Size Telescopes (LSTs) on the CTA-North site, which is located at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos in La Palma island.
