Scientists detect the optical counterpart of the last gravitational waves of LIGO / Virgo

A scientific team, using the DES camera, has captured the images of the result of a collision between two neutron stars, the source of the most recent detection of gravitational waves made by LIGO/Virgo.

Researchers of Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, MedioAmbientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT), the Institut de Ciències de l'Espai (IEEC-CSIC), the Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE) and the Instituto de Física Teórica (UAM-CSIC) participate in the result.
