Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía from Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and LIPSSYNC MEDIALAB are pleased to announce the premiere of the popular science docu-series TERRITORIO GRAVIDAD on RTVE La2. Following more than 7 years of development, the series will finally be released on television as it was intended. In episodes 6, 11 and 12, the Institute for Theoretical Physics (CSIC-UAM) plays a prominent role in the series.

TERRITORIO GRAVEDAD examines the mysterious interaction at its origin and in its complex form today. This is an outreach production with great rigor, endorsed by the CSIC, that incorporates artistic and humanist elements to convey science through a high-bandwidth docu-fiction.

TERRITORIO GRAVIDAD celebrates the centennial of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity in 1915, but the premiere will commemorate Einstein's heterodox visit to Spain in February 1923. In all social orders, that visit was quite an event!

From Monday, February 20 to Thursday, February 23, 4 episodes can be watched consecutively in the Documenta2 space, at 7:00 p.m. Subsequently, starting on Friday, February 24, the first season of the series (chapters 1 to 8) can be enjoyed on the FILMIN platform and as video on demand on VIMEO. The second installment of the series (its remaining 5 episodes) will wait a few more months and will be announced in due course.

TERRITORIO GRAVEDAD has been scientifically directed by Carlos Barceló and produced by Nacho Chueca. It is an audiovisual outreach production promoted by the Spanish Society of Gravitation and Relativity and co-produced by the IAA-CSIC and the production company LIPSSYNC MEDIALAB. It has the support and financing of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the E2 IN2 business group, among more than 15 national and international scientific institutions. The project, which began in 2016, has involved filming in three phases with more than 60 interviews with research personnel in 14 locations.

Today, TERRITORIO GRAVEDAD is the largest audiovisual overview of the cosmos made in Spanish, unique in the audiovisual world in its docu-fiction format.
