New research positions open at IFT (César Nombela 2025 programme)

The Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT UAM-CSIC) invites expressions of interest for fixed-term faculty positions under the César Nombela Research Talent Attraction Programme 2025, funded by the Madrid regional government.

These are 5-year positions with an additional research grant of up to €200,000. The official call is expected to open in July 2025. Details will be published soon at:

Applications must be endorsed by a host institution. To this end, IFT is conducting a pre-selection process open until July 18, 2025, for candidates working in the following fields:

  • Particle phenomenology

  • Astroparticle physics

  • String theory

  • Gravitation and cosmology

  • Lattice and quantum field theory

  • Quantum information theory

Applicants must meet, among others, the following criteria:

  • - Possession of a doctoral degree between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2022.

  • - Having had a paid professional relationship (contract or scholarship) with foreign research entities for at least 2 years in the last 5 years; these  can be with different entities.

  • - Throughout the entire execution period, the research staff must submit the application to an ERC at least once.
