  • Álvaro de Rújula will give an outreach conference at Fundación Ramón Areces on Thursday, October 10, at 7 PM.

There is a tradition of celebrating scientific progress—or other kind of progress—on the occasion of notable anniversaries. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of "Quantum Chromodynamics," the theory that describes quarks and gluons, the most fascinating elementary particles. Álvaro de Rújula will discuss this topic and other aspects of the "standard model" of the microcosm and some of the ups and downs of Spanish science.
