The Institute of Theoretical Physics IFT CSIC/UAM welcomes applications to a postdoctoral position in astroparticle phenomenology (1+1 years).

The Institute of Theoretical Physics IFT CSIC/UAM welcomes applications to postdoctoral positions, starting October 2019, under various  programs:

- Several positions within the IFT Severo Ochoa Excellence Center program

- One position in Cosmology (early universe, dark matter, dark energy, BSM physics) funded by  “Atraccion de Talento Investigador” grant  #2016-T1/TIC-2025 (G. Ballesteros) awarded by the Comunidad de Madrid.

There is a new opening for PhD positions at the IFT, including four positions associated to the Severo Ochoa Excellence Center grant. Candidates are expected to carry out a PhD in one of the strategic research lines of the IFT, which include particle phenomenology, astroparticle physics, nuclear theory, string theory, gravitation and cosmology, lattice and quantum field theory, and quantum information theory.

FUNCIONES:

Apoyo a la gestión administrativa y financiera del proyecto de la UE “Elusives” (674896 —Elusives — H2020-MSCA-ITN-2015, 1.4.2016 – 31.3.2020) coordinado por la UAM.   

Entre otras:

– Perfil solicitado: se ofrece contrato laboral para puesto de técnico en proyectos europeos para desarrollar sus funciones en IFT.
Las características para acceder al puesto son las siguientes:
    •    Titulación mínima: licenciatura o graduado universitario.
    •    Conocimientos adicionales:
– Normativa de ayudas europeas.
– Dominio de bases de datos de proyectos.
– Alto nivel de idioma inglés.

Postdoctoral positions at the IFT funded by the UAM Intertalentum MSCA COFUND grant.

The Institute of Theoretical Physics IFT CSIC/UAM participates in the "Intertalentum" program offering 9 2-year postdoctoral positions at research centers in the UAM+CSIC Excellence Campus, starting in Fall 2018.

Interested candidates should have scientific expertise in the areas of either particle phenomenology, astroparticle physics, nuclear theory, string theory, gravitation and cosmology, lattice and quantum field theory, or quantum information theory.

The position will have a duration of 3 years and is funded by an “Atracción de Talento Investigador” grant awarded by the regional government of Madrid to Dr. Guillermo Ballesteros. An eventual extension of the position to a fourth year will be subject to the availability of funding.

Candidates are expected to carry out a PhD in one of the strategic research lines of the IFT, which include particle phenomenology, astroparticle physics, nuclear theory, string theory, gravitation and cosmology, lattice and quantum field theory, and quantum information theory. They should have an excellent academic track record, and are expected to hold an academic degree that grants access to a PhD program at the time of formalisation of the contract.
