Sachiko Kuroyanagi awarded a 2024 Leonardo Grant from Fundación BBVA

Sachiko Kuroyanagi, a staff scientist at the Instituto de Física Teórica IFT UAM-CSIC, has been awarded one of the prestigious 2024 Leonardo Grants in the Physics category, granted by Fundación BBVA.

Her project, titled “Innovative Machine Learning Application for Gravitational Wave Data Analysis”, was selected from over 260 proposals in the field of Physics and Chemistry, in a highly competitive call with a 4% success rate. This award highlights the innovative and transformative potential of her research, which applies cutting-edge machine learning techniques to the analysis of gravitational wave data.

With this recognition, Sachiko Kuroyanagi joins the Leonardo Network, a community of excellence now formed by 682 researchers and creators across disciplines.
